Technical Theater Internship Program

Program Description

The Maryland Theatre Technical Theater Internship program is available for serious students interested in learning more about the event and performance industry. Interns will be supervised by full-time technicians and staff. Interns will assist with a variety of tasks including but not limited to sound production, light design, projection, technical maintenance, event set-up, load in and load out. Interns are invited to experience the performing arts industry; interns will not be entitled to a job at the conclusion of the internship.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited program for a degree in theater, business, or related area.
  • Recommendation from a faculty member.
  • Valid driver’s license and/ or reliable transportation to and from the Theatre.
  • Ability to regularly lift or move 50lbs and stand for long periods of time.
  • Availability to be on-site evening & weekends, this is not a remote internship.
  • A creative and collaborative spirit, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn.
